Privacy Policy

What personal information Season collects, why we collect it, who can see it, and the choices you have. Last updated: 14 October 2026.

1. About this policy

This policy explains what personal information Season collects, why we collect it, who can see it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

Season is operated by SEASON CAREERS, ABN 17 427 099 423 ("Season", "we", "us"). Season is an online marketplace that connects Working Holiday Visa travellers ("Travellers") with employers, recruiters and agencies ("Employers") offering seasonal work in Australia.

You must be at least 18 years old to create a Season account. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and we will delete an account if we learn the user is under 18.

By creating an account or using Season, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Season.

2. Information we collect

What we collect depends on how you use Season.

All accounts

  • First and last name, display name, email address, phone number, country, profile photo, your role (Traveller, Employer or admin) and when your account was created.
  • Your password, which our sign-in system stores in scrambled (hashed) form. Season never sees it.

Travellers

  • Personal details: full and preferred name, date of birth, nationality, phone and email.
  • Visa details you tell us: visa type, visa expiry, whether you have the legal right to work, and whether your passport is valid. We do not check this information, and we do not ask for or store copies of your visa, passport or other right-to-work documents.
  • Location and availability: current location and state, dates you are available, minimum stay, and preferred locations and states.
  • Work preferences: job categories, environments, role types, hours, accommodation preferences, and whether you are willing to do physical work, weekends, split shifts, shared rooms or relocate.
  • Practical details: driver's licence, vehicle, own transport, own accommodation, whether you are open to remote work, skills, languages and English level.
  • Your profile text, such as your "about", what you are hoping to find, and why you are reliable.
  • Past jobs (title, employer, location, country, dates and description) and certifications (name, issuer, dates and a link to the document).
  • Founding membership details: sign-up date, group, status and the date your free period ends.

Employers

  • Business name, legal and trading name, ABN or registration number, registered and operating addresses, website, industry and staff numbers.
  • Contact person details: name, role, email, phone and LinkedIn.
  • Hiring and workplace details: pay range, hours, accommodation and transport, pay deductions, compliance confirmations, and your logo, cover photo, profile photo and workplace photos.
  • Job ads, including a main photo.

Applications and placements

  • Your cover message, answers to the Employer's questions, availability dates, minimum commitment, and your confirmations about work rights and commitment.
  • A copy of your profile as it was when you applied.
  • Application status, placement dates, suggested new dates, and whether the Traveller accepted.
  • Private notes an Employer makes about an application. You cannot see these notes.

Reviews, reports and notifications

  • Star ratings, written reviews and endorsements of English level or skills (see section 6).
  • Reports you make about another user or a review, including your reason and details.
  • In-app notifications and subscription records. Every account currently has a free plan, and we do not take payments.

What we do not collect

We do not currently collect CVs, copies of ID or visa documents, or messages between users.

3. How we collect it

  • From you. When you register, complete your profile, post a job, apply, accept a placement, write a review, make a report or contact us.
  • From other users. Employers add notes about applications and placements, and Travellers and Employers write reviews and endorsements about each other.
  • Automatically. Our hosting and database providers keep standard technical logs: your IP address, browser details, the pages and data requested, and when. Our sign-in system records sign-in events, and our email system records each email we send, who it went to and whether it was delivered. Our hosting provider also offers basic visit statistics, such as page views and visits.
  • From Stripe. When we introduce paid features, Stripe will tell us whether a payment succeeded. See section 5.

Season does not add any analytics, advertising or location tracking of its own.

4. How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • create and manage your account and let you sign in;
  • run the marketplace: show job ads, handle applications and placements, and send you notifications and emails about your own account and activity;
  • run the review system described in section 6;
  • keep Season safe: handle reports, moderate content, prevent fraud and misuse, and enforce our Terms;
  • give you support and respond to your questions;
  • improve Season, and create anonymised statistics (see section 7);
  • send you marketing emails where you have agreed (see section 8);
  • take payments, once paid features are introduced; and
  • meet our legal obligations.

At the time of writing, Season does not use artificial intelligence or automated decision-making to match, rank or screen Travellers or Employers.

5. Who we share it with

We share your information only as described here. Apart from live job ads, nothing on Season is visible to signed-out visitors.

Public. Live job ads, and the photos attached to them, can be seen by anyone, including people without an account.

Employers. When you apply for a job or are placed, the Employer can see your profile, photo, past jobs, your answers, and the copy of your profile taken when you applied. Employers may keep this information in their own systems, which we do not control. Please contact the Employer directly about how they handle it.

Travellers. Once you have applied to or been placed with a business, you can see its full profile. Travellers cannot see other Travellers.

Recruiters and agencies. If you apply for a job advertised by a recruiter or agency, they can see your information as described above and may pass it to the employer they are recruiting for. We require them to handle it lawfully, but we are not responsible for how they use it outside Season.

Season staff. Season administrators can see all information on the platform, for support, safety and moderation.

Service providers. We use these providers to run Season. They may access your information to provide their services, under their own terms and privacy policies:

  • Lovable and Supabase: hosting, database, file storage and sign-in.
  • Cloudflare: website delivery.
  • Lovable's email service: sends emails from notify@season.careers, including your name, email address and the email content, such as job titles, business names and review excerpts.
  • Google Fonts: your browser loads fonts from Google, so Google receives your IP address and browser details.
  • Stripe: payments, once introduced. Stripe collects and processes your payment details under its own privacy policy. We do not store your card details, only a record that a payment was made.

Legal and safety. We may share information with police, regulators or courts where the law requires it, or where needed to protect people's safety or our legal rights.

Business changes. If Season is sold or restructured, your information may be transferred to the new owner, who must handle it under this policy.

We do not sell your personal information. See section 7 for what we may do with anonymised statistics.

6. Reviews and endorsements

Reviews on Season are only visible to people who have a Season account. They are not shown to signed-out visitors or search engines.

Under our Terms, after a placement ends both the Employer and the Traveller must submit a review within 7 days, and we send reminders. A review includes a star rating, written comments of up to 800 characters, and, where we ask an Employer, an endorsement of a Traveller's English level or skills. Reviews are linked to the person who wrote them and to the person or business they are about, so they contain personal information about both.

We do not verify reviews. They are the opinions of the users who write them, not of Season. We may hold, edit for formatting, hide or remove a review that breaches our Terms or has been reported. We do not change what a review says to make it more favourable.

If you delete your account, the reviews and endorsements you wrote stay on the profiles of the people and businesses you reviewed, so that reviews on Season stay trustworthy. They keep showing your name as it was when you wrote them: your first name only for Travellers (your last name is never shown on reviews), or your business name for Employers. Reviews written about you are deleted along with your profile. If you think a review about you is inaccurate or breaches our Terms, you can report it through Season or contact us.

7. Anonymised statistics

We may share or sell anonymised, de-identified statistics about how Season is used. These statistics do not identify you and cannot reasonably be used to identify you.

They may include figures such as:

  • how many Travellers join, grouped by age band (for example 25 to 29), nationality, and state or region;
  • when Travellers join;
  • how many applications, offers and placements happen;
  • which job categories and states are in demand; and
  • other aggregated figures about visa types, length of stay and seasonal work trends.

We may share these statistics with government bodies, tourism and regional development organisations, researchers, insurers, other platforms and other businesses. We only share figures for groups large enough that no individual can be picked out.

Anonymised statistics never include your name, email, phone number, photo, profile, visa details, exact age or employer names.

We will never sell your personal information, such as your name, contact details, photos or profile, to anyone.

8. Marketing and other emails

We send two kinds of email.

Account emails. These relate to your own account and activity: welcome emails, applications, placements, reviews and founding membership reminders. You will receive these while your account is active, and they cannot be switched off.

Marketing emails. Where you have agreed, we email you about Season's news and features, and about offers from our partners and other third parties that we think may interest you. We send these ourselves. We do not give your email address to partners or third parties for their own marketing.

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in each email, or by contacting us. We will stop within 5 business days.

9. Where your information is stored

Your information is stored on Lovable Cloud, which runs on Supabase. Our other providers, including Cloudflare, Google and Stripe, may process information in other countries, including the United States.

Travellers come to Season from many countries, so your information may be accessed from or sent outside your home country and outside Australia. Where we send personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to make sure the recipient handles it in a way that is consistent with this policy. By using Season, you agree to this.

10. Security, retention and deletion

Security. All traffic to and from Season uses HTTPS. Our providers encrypt the database and files at rest. Every table in our database has access rules that limit who can read or change each record, and uploaded photos are kept in private storage and shown through short-lived links. No system is completely secure, so please use a strong, unique password and tell us straight away if you think your account has been misused.

How long we keep information. We keep your information while your account exists. Deactivated accounts are kept until you reactivate or delete them. Our providers keep backups and technical logs for their standard periods, usually days to weeks, and our email system keeps a log of emails sent.

Deactivating or deleting your account. Travellers and Employers can deactivate or delete their account in Settings, or ask us to do it by emailing hello@season.careers. Deactivating hides your profile, pauses an Employer's live job ads and signs you out. Signing back in reactivates your account and restores everything. Deleting is permanent: you confirm it in Settings and your information is removed straight away. If you email us instead, we will do it within 30 days. Deleting removes your profile, Traveller and business profiles, roles, uploaded photos, job ads, applications, placements, past jobs, certifications, notifications, reports you made, membership and subscription records, and reviews written about you.

Some information remains after you delete your account. Reviews and endorsements you gave stay on the profiles of the people and businesses you reviewed, under your name as it was when you wrote them (see section 6). To let them stay, we keep a blank, locked sign-in record. It holds no personal details: your email address is replaced, your password is scrambled and nobody can sign in to it. You can use your email address to sign up again. Employers and recruiters who received your information before you deleted your account may keep their own copies. Copies in backups are removed as the backups expire. We may keep information we are legally required to keep, or need to resolve a dispute or prevent fraud.

11. Cookies and browser storage

Season stores a small amount of information in your browser:

  • Sign-in session (browser storage): keeps you signed in. Season cannot work without it.
  • Notification and draft data (browser storage): remembers which notifications you have read and any review drafts you have not sent.
  • Sidebar cookie: remembers whether the sidebar is open or closed. This is not essential, and you can block it in your browser settings.

Season does not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels. Our hosting provider may measure aggregate visits to the site, and Google Fonts receives your IP address when your browser loads fonts, as described in section 5.

12. Your rights and complaints

You can ask us at any time to:

  • give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
  • correct information that is wrong or out of date; and
  • delete your account and information (see section 10).

Travellers can edit their profile, and Employers can edit their business profile and jobs, directly in Season. For anything else, email us at hello@season.careers. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, and we will respond within 30 days. We may refuse a request where the law allows, for example where it would reveal another person's private information, and we will tell you why.

If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you may have additional rights under local privacy law. Contact us to find out how to use them.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can try to fix it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

13. Changes and contact

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make an important change, we will tell you by email or through Season before it takes effect. The latest version is always available on Season, and continuing to use Season after a change means you accept it.

This policy was last updated on 14 October 2026.
